The Untethered Soul EasyRead Super Large 20pt Edition Book Review:

The chapters of this book are nothing but mirrors for seeing your ''self'' from different angles. And though the journey we are about to embark on is an inner one, it will draw upon every aspect of your life. The only requirement asked of you is the willingness to honestly look at yourself in the most natural, intuitive manner. Remember, if we are seeking the root of ''self,'' what we are actually seeking is you. As you read through these pages, you will find that you know much more than you thought you did about some very deep subjects. The fact is, you already know how to find yourself; you have just gotten distracted and disoriented. Once refocused, you will realize that you not only have the ability to find yourself, you have the ability to free yourself. Whether you choose to do so or not is entirely up to you. But upon completion of your journey through these chapters, there will be no more confusion, no more lack of empowerment, and no more blaming others. You will know exactly what must be done. And should you choose to devote yourself to the ongoing journey of self-realization, you will develop a tremendous sense of respect for who you really are. It is only then that you will come to appreciate the full depth of meaning in the advice: ''This above all: to thine own self be true.'' ---- Introduction

The Warrior s Meditation Book Review:

The Warrior's Meditation, by award-winning author of The Unbound Soul, Richard L. Haight, teaches the original, instinctive, non-religious form of meditation that has been all but lost to the world. Richard L. Haight, master of four samurai arts, shares the best-kept secret in self-improvement, cognitive development, and stress-relief in the world. You may wonder how the Samurai's experience bears any resemblance to your modern life. After all, no armies or assassins seem to be trying to attack you or your town. In one way, we are not so different from the Samurai. With our busy lives, we don't have time to spend hours a day in meditation. The Warrior's Meditation helps you access and express from that depth naturally.Surprisingly, a significant body scientific research verifies the benefits associated with regular meditation practice. Below are some of the benefits associated with daily meditation: ? Boosts health through improved immune function, decreased cellular inflammation and pain. ? Boosts happiness by increasing positive emotion while decreasing anxiety, depression, and stress. ? Improves your ability to introspect, which provides a more holistic, grounded life perspective. ? Improves your social life as it increases emotional intelligence and compassion while reducing feelings of insecurity. ? Improves your brain by increasing grey matter in areas related to paying attention, positive emotions, emotional regulation, and self-control. ? Reduces emotional reactivity. ? Improves memory, creativity and abstract thinking. The Warrior's Meditation is unlike any other meditation. This method is flexible in application, which allows it to blend with whatever your day has in store. Living Food Book Review:

Our health and the health of the planet are intertwined: one cannot thrive without the other. But many of our modern ways of growing and processing food diminish the nutritional value of the food we eat and the integrity of the planet on which we live. Through simple and colourful recipes, expert nutritional insights and environmental observations Daphne Lambert describes how, by linking our eating to seasonal rhythms, we can help ensure a harmonious relationship between ourselves and the planet. Each section, one for each of the four seasons, reveals Mother Nature’s knack for providing us with the food we need when we need it most and how we can benefit from her seasonal offerings. Living Food is not just a cookbook; it is a holistic nutritional guide and a food wisdom yearbook that will make you think more deeply about the food we eat.

Vine of the Soul Book Review:

The aging President can't think clearly. The U.S.-Soviet stalemate is about to end. The free world hangs in the balance. It was 1994 when President Reagan announced his Alzheimer's disease diagnosis. But what if the affliction had manifested years before, during the Cold War negotiations? Vine of the Soul explores the possibility of a sitting President becoming mentally incapable of performing his duties, and the strategies that covert government agencies would consider in such a predicament. The solution? An exotic hallucinogen from the Amazon known as ayahuasca. Given in low doses, the drug seemed to counteract the deleterious effects of Alzheimer's disease. But Reagan was the " just say no" president- how could he be convinced to ingest an illegal drug? Vine of the Soul is an interplay of competing intelligence agencies and provides a fast paced tale of political values, pharmacology, rain forest ecology and the endless search for mind enhancing drugs. The synergy of the mysterious drug ayahuasca and the former President's battle with Alzheimer's disease create a fascinating study of American drug policies and the elusive search for artificial paradise. In addition, the involvement of a young family and their quest to cure their sick infant adds another dimension to the story line.

Memoirs of the Soul Book Review:

In the art of it there is a reflection of life as it is found across the breadth of nature. The verses within this work are inspired to teach of this universal transcendency we call life. They will be of a purpose by which the reader may learn of him/herself the greater being by which we are a part. Virtue is but the entire whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Alike a loaf of bread made from scratch, each ingredient is bitter and displeasing, yet when carefully added together, given time to bake, then those ingredients comprise a nutritious completion. So a true poem may be of words that teach of an understanding which is greater than the words used to create the verse. Inspiration is but the essence of an artistic creation, and the creator is but the vehicle of such. There we will learn by a work of creativity the nature of life as is understood through nature, truth and beauty. For it is but these qualities which created the greater universe by which we all belong. Live by virtue and there will illumine the entire resolution of any conflict. Within poetry is presented a problem and throughout the verse to the very ending is a solution to this problem, giving the reader understanding and benefit. Learn by art and the never-ending process of life will become more and more complete, like a loaf of bread.

Percy Bysshe Shelley Prometheus Unbound Book Review:

Shelley is one of the most revered figures in the English poetical landscape. Born on the 4th August 1792 he has, over the years, become rightly regarded as a major Romantic poet. Yet during his own lifetime little of his work was published. Publishers feared his radical views and possible charges against themselves for blasphemy and sedition. On 8th July 1822 a month before his 30th birthday, during a sudden storm, his tragic early death by drowning robbed our culture of many fine expected masterpieces. But in his short spell on earth he weaved much magic. Whilst Prometheus Unbound is a four act lyric play it was not written to be performed as a play but staged within the imagination of the reader. It is a reply to Aeschylus' Prometheus Bound which has the hero stealing fire from the gods to give to mortals. Many think this work is Shelley's masterpiece as it represents a culmination of the poet's political thought and displays his considerable gift of lyrical expression. The play was written over 4 years as its progress was severely impeded by the tragic death of first his daughter Clara Everina in 1818 and then his son William in 1819. The fourth act, a warning that evil must be checked lest tyranny reign, was added many months after the first three had been completed and revised. Shelley compares his Prometheus to Milton's Satan in Paradise Lost: But Prometheus is, as it were, the type of the highest perfection of moral and intellectual nature, impelled by the purest and the truest motives to the best and noblest ends.

The Unbound God Book Review:

This volume examines the prevalence, function, and socio-political effects of slavery discourse in the major theological formulations of the late third to early fifth centuries AD, arguably the most formative period of early Christian doctrine. The question the book poses is this: in what way did the Christian theologians of the third, fourth, and early fifth centuries appropriate the discourse of slavery in their theological formulations, and what could the effect of this appropriation have been for actual physical slaves? This fascinating study is crucial reading for anyone with an interest in early Christianity or Late Antiquity, and slavery more generally.

The Yoga Philosophy Book Review:

This book having gone through a first edition within four months, and there still being a great demand for it, the Mana- gers of the Theosophical Publication Fund have thought it best to issue this second edition. Care has been taken to ensure accuracy in the text by comparing it with the Bhoja Vriti in Sanskrit, and in some places the translation into English by Dr. Rajendralala Mitra has been consulted. But the original text of Dr. Ballantyne has been principally followed.
