Curse of Shadows and Thorns Book Review:

A bargain between enemies. A curse without an end. A love that will bring a kingdom to its knees. Long ago, Elise's ancestors stole the crown from the fae king. As the niece of the brutal, current king, her purpose is to do whatever is asked to ensure her family keeps the throne for centuries to come. The trouble is, Elise would rather sneak into gambling halls with the servants than be a silent princess at a ball. Soon reckless games are ended when her uncle forces her into negotiations for a marriage. If she refuses, her deathly-ill father will pay the price. Trapped by her sense of duty, Elise is given to the charge of Legion Grey, the handsome and mysterious dowry negotiator. But Legion holds more than her future in his hands. He incites her anger and a forbidden passion. When a coup upends the kingdom, Elise flees with Legion, only to discover he holds more secrets than anyone. Unknowingly, Elise sets in motion a beastly curse Legion has endured as long as he can remember. As secrets unravel about Legion's vicious past, questions rise over who has the true right to the throne. When answers come, more lives are put at stake, and Elise is forced to make an impossible choice: avoid a bloody game by leaving Legion to the beast within, or end his curse and restore magic to the land by sacrificing a life--hers. For fans of Court of Thorns and Roses and The Shadows Between Us, this tale of a rebellious princess and cursed rogue is seductively romantic. Part Viking, part Beauty and the Beast, one-click to preorder a dark, swoon-worthy slow burn romance with the perfect amount of sweet and steam.

Mending a Broken Mind Book Review:

Do you feel down, depressed, or hopeless? Have you lost interest or pleasure in doing things? Do you know someone who might be depressed and want to help? Are you a Christian healer--health care provider, counselor, or clergy - and want to expand your knowledge base on depression? If you answer yes to any of these questions, this book may be of help to you. As a Christian family physician and educator for forty-three years and with seminary training, I have found that treating the whole person with clinical depression is the most likely way to be healed from this dreadful illness. There are now many real helps for those with clinical depression from the medical (including psychiatric), counseling, and pastoral care professions, especially from the Bible itself. I have suffered from seven clinical depressions, and most of my siblings and children have experienced at least one clinical depression--so I know what the issues are that face those of us who are depressed. I have also included real life examples of Christians who have suffered from depression, including me, as well as helpful quotations from Scripture and special prayers for those who are depressed.

The Symmetry Solution A Modern View of Biblical Prophecy Book Review:

Contemporary clergy often tell us the Lord’s return is imminent, but unknowable, and that Antichrist is anticipated, but unrecognizable prior to his debut. Does the Bible veil our advance understanding; or, does a loving all-powerful God show us the way before the great and dreadful day of the Lord? With uncommon insight, David Smith, unites history and mathematics to illustrate a revolutionary idea of prophetic symmetry. The Symmetry Solution is not "another" prophecy book. If you are looking for an original work that provides groundbreaking answers to the Lord’s wonderfully concealed prophecies, The Symmetry Solution is for you.

Broken Covenants Book Review:

Broken Covenants Broken Covenants seeks to highlight the love of God for man and the things the Lord had been doing to bring man back into fellowship with Him since mankind fell from grace because of sin. Sin has corrupted the entire world, and it started when Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan in the garden of Eden. Satan had since that time gained control over the earth from Adam whom God had given this charge. Everything being corrupted by sin, including man, faces the curse of death. Satan having taken control of the earth had access to heaven where he was a continuous accuser of man before God. God is determined to destroy this corrupted earth and Satan with it to get rid of sin altogether, but He is also determined to restore man and save man from His wrath and the destruction to come. God sent a flood to destroy sinful man from the earth, but as man multiplied again in the earth, so did sin. The Lord then chose a people of Israel to be His chosen people. He blessed and prospered them to make the rest of the world be jealous of the God of Israel that they would forsake their gods and seek after the God of Israel. Israel, however, turned to the gods of these nations instead that God had to reject His people. God then sent His own Son Who never sinned, and therefore, death had no control over Him. Having conquered sin and death, Jesus has taken back control of the earth, and the devil is cast out of heaven and have no more access to heaven. Man is therefore restored, but he had to trust in Jesus and what He has done to be redeemed back to God. This is the way of salvation, and God now has accomplished that which was His desire since Adam.

The Legend of Broken Book Review:

“A sprawling fantasy saga . . . Caleb Carr boldly goes where he’s never gone before.”—USA Today Legend meets history in this mesmerizing novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Caleb Carr. Demonstrating the rich storytelling, skillful plotting, and depth of research he showcased in The Alienist, Carr has written a wildly imaginative, genre-bending saga that redefines the boundaries of literature. Some years ago, a remarkable manuscript long rumored to exist was discovered: The Legend of Broken. It tells of a prosperous fortress city where order reigns at the point of a sword—even as scheming factions secretly vie for control of the surrounding kingdom. Meanwhile, outside the city’s granite walls, an industrious tribe of exiles known as the Bane forages for sustenance in the wilds of Davon Wood. At every turn, the lives of Broken’s defenders and its would-be destroyers intertwine: Sixt Arnem, the widely respected and honorable head of the kingdom’s powerful army, grapples with his conscience and newfound responsibilities amid rumors of impending war. Lord Baster-kin, master of the Merchants’ Council, struggles to maintain the magnificence of his kingdom even as he pursues vainglorious dreams of power. And Keera, a gifted female tracker of the Bane tribe, embarks on a perilous journey to save her people, enlisting the aid of the notorious and brilliant philosopher Caliphestros. Together, they hope to exact a ruinous revenge on Broken, ushering in a day of reckoning when the mighty walls will be breached forever in a triumph of science over superstition. Breathtakingly profound and compulsively readable, Caleb Carr’s long-awaited new book is an action-packed, multicharacter epic of a medieval clash of cultures—in which new gods collide with old, science defies all expectation, and virtue comes in many guises. Brimming with adventure and narrative invention, The Legend of Broken is an exhilarating and enthralling masterwork. Praise for The Legend of Broken “An excellent and old-fashioned entertainment . . . The Legend of Broken seamlessly blends epic adventure with serious research and asks questions that men and women grappled with in the Dark Ages and still do today.”—The Washington Post “[A] colossal effort . . . a fantasy epic . . . meant as an allegory, a cautionary tale for our precarious times. To make his points, Carr has summoned a dream team of soldiers, wizards, and tiny forest folk.”—The New York Times Book Review “Carr keeps the action hurtling along with a steady diet of gruesome murders and political betrayals. And he clearly wants modern readers to see something of their own world in the political corruption and greed that ultimately doom Broken.”—The Boston Globe

Broken Ground Book Review:

A woman digs up a buried treasure—and a buried body—in the Scottish Highlands: “There are few other crime writers in the same league.”—Maureen Corrigan, The Washington Post Six feet under in a Highland peat bog lies Alice Somerville’s inheritance, buried by her grandfather at the end of World War II. But when Alice finally uncovers it, she finds an unwanted surprise—a body with a bullet hole between the eyes. Meanwhile, DCI Karen Pirie is dealing not only with this cold case but with a domestic violence case, and as as she gets closer to the truth, it becomes clear that not everyone shares her desire for justice. Or even the idea of what justice is. An engrossing, twisty thriller, Broken Ground is an outstanding entry in this Diamond Dagger-winning author’s “superior series” (The New York Times Book Review). “As always, McDermid’s story lines are as richly layered as her protagonist.”—Publishers Weekly “One of the best things about this series is the details of Karen's working life, the obstacles as well as the satisfactions, and the small pleasures of her off hours.”—Kirkus Reviews

The Kingdom Is At Hand Book Review:

The Kingdom of God was a major topic of discussion between Jesus and His disciples. Much of Jesus' teachings were built upon the foundation of kingdom truths and spiritual realities. Jesus, on many occasions spoke of doing the will of the One who sent Him. The will of His Father was the driving force of His purpose in the flesh. He came to do the Father's will. Jesus' primary goal was the establishment of the Father's will on the earth. As Jesus would move and act and speak on behalf of His Father the kingdom of heaven, through His life, would be in full advance, made obvious by the supernatural demonstrations of the Spirit. Strongholds were smashed, prisoners were set free, and the kingdom of darkness was falling! Jesus, by the authority given Him from the Father, walked this earth in the liberty of the kingdom of heaven, and put into motion the Father's plan to reconcile all things back to Himself. But the message does not end there. The same things that Jesus taught and did throughout His ministry He would later pass on to His disciples. At the close of Jesus' earthly ministry He would bestow upon them the mandate of His Father to preach the Gospel of the kingdom to every nation, tribe and tongue. They were to do what He did. They were not going to be alone in this endeavor but would have with them, living in them, the Holy Spirit — the Helper. On the Day of Pentecost the kingdom had come in power and had transformed their lives. Through the release of God's kingdom into the earth the disciples went about turning the world upside down. This same transformative power — the power of the kingdom of God is still here today. God is in the process of restoring a kingdom paradigm — a kingdom mindset back to the church. In "The Kingdom Is At Hand" Pastor Jason R. Harris gives us his own unique perspective on the nature of the kingdom of God. In this book you will learn such truths as: • The kingdom is the will of the king. • The king is a direct reflection of His kingdom. • The edicts of the king are the rights of the citizens. • AND many more... Join Pastor Harris in discovering the kingdom of God and begin to walk in the truths revealed in this book.

Great Prophecies Concerning Europe Book Review:

According to scriptural prophecies, there is only one man that is destined to unite the whole of Europe under his leadership like the glorious days of the Roman times and he would only succeed for a very brief period. This book exposes the scriptural prophecies concerning the man that would heal the wounds of the collapsed Roman Empire. It also reveals the Indo-European nations that evolved from the families of the seven sons of Japheth and the prophetic utterances concerning these nations.
