In the Name of Jesus Book Review:

When good and evil become indistinguishable. . . Following Tommy's triumph in the light heavyweight kickboxing championship, he envisioned his life being on the upswing. Tragically chronic back pain forced him to retire and an ensuing divorce turns Tommy's world upside down. Unable to find relief for the resulting physical and mental pain, he ventures to Asia in search of a new life in an attempt to find answers and gain perspective. In his sixth year overseas, he receives what he perceives as the answer to his prayers, a job teaching at a Christian Missionary school. Since the prior twenty years had been one seeking God and now expecting to find people who seek to help those who are less fortunate, he is shocked at what he found. Instead of love, caring and compassion, he finds pride, envy, and hate. To complicate matters he is made aware of the reason for his chronic back pain when he is diagnosed with an incurable blood and bone cancer. It was during Tommy's most challenging time when the cancer had eaten four inches from his vertebra and ravaged him of thirty pounds that the school's head master (Dickie) promised that he would always have a job and insurance until his eventual demise. This promise quickly lost the support of the school's board which led Dickie to try and get rid of Tommy any way he could. Their measures caused a divorce, taking his job as well as his insurance and leaving him half way around the world with little hope. In an ensuing conversation with an old friend from England, he divulges many of the notes he had written during the ordeal. Tony who was a brilliant educator then suggested that Tommy use the writings made during the ordeal be put together in a book. Armed with the hope of some type of justice, Tommy finds motivation to fight back and be heard. This is the account of his observations and thoughts during these turbulent years.

Unwrapping the Names of Jesus Book Review:

How to focus on Christ during Advent Most Christians agree that Christmas is all about Jesus, yet most of us spend little time preparing our hearts to celebrate Him. Why is this? Partly because we don’t know how. In Unwrapping the Names of Jesus, Asheritah Ciuciu leads readers through the four weeks of Advent (Hope, Preparation, Joy, and Love). Each week: Begins with an interactive family devotional that equips readers to celebrate Advent together Offers five daily reflections that focus on that week's name of Jesus Includes suggestions for fun-filled family activities or service projects This devotional can be used by readers in their own personal worship times or as a tool to engage in family worship during the busy holiday season. Either way, participants will gain a greater sense of awe and wonder at who Jesus is. By focusing on the person and character of Jesus throughout the Advent season, readers will prepare their hearts so that when they admire the live nativity, sit in the candlelight service, or wake up on Christian morning, they can join the faithful who sing from the bottom of their hearts, "O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!"

The Name Book Review:

Before offering a prayer at the inauguration of President George W. Bush, Franklin Graham was asked by a fellow participant if he intended to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Graham assured him that he would and encouraged this pastor to do the same. As Graham reminded him, "That's the only thing we've got." In days of religious confusion and cultural relativism, Franklin Graham reminds us that there are absolutes in the kingdom of God. The Name explains the significance of names in the Hebrew culture, centering on the meaningfulness of the name Jesus. Chapters focus on the different aspects of power in the Lord's name, such as "Healing in the Name" and "Salvation in the Name."

Baptism in the Name of Jesus Acts 2 38 from Jerusalem to Great Britain Book Review:

British Christianity is embedded with a deep sense history that once discovered, will start to reveal an apostolic linage traceable to the Book of Acts. With the rise of British Christianity in various parts of ancient Britain, it played a fundamental, yet pivotal role in maintaining and shaping the baptismal practice of single immersion in the name of Christ alone. At least from the time of Tertullian of Carthage as testified by the Church Historian, Eusebius of Caesarea to the acclaimed British born and first Christian Roman Emperor, Constantine who oversaw and officiated the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D, the entrance of Christianity into Britain was seen to resist Roman and Papal authority and jurisdiction, thereby minimizing any Roman influence and dominance, resulting in the excommunication of the British Church. The British Church with is religious practices became a thorn in the side of the Roman Church, but continued to exercise its religious freedoms in accordance with the apostolic message. Therefore, contained within this work is reference to an array of literature, publications and prominent figures who noted baptism in the name of Jesus only or Christ alone from within Britain since the ancient period till the present. Great Britain has been home to baptism in the name of Jesus only for centuries and hundreds of years, coupled with theological belief of the British and European people of sabellianism derivative from the New Testament with an Old Testament foundation.
